harmLESS - Support
It seems as if this young person has harmed themselves but is not actively planning to end their life.
Acts of self-harm without suicidal thoughts are common and fortunately most do not go on to develop serious suicidal plans.
At this stage it is important to support the young person and to let those who are involved know how they are feeling. You could also encourage the young person or their parent/carer to make a self-referral to TIC+ for counselling.
Provide a copy of the Support Plan & Information Sheet (below).
